David-Bellamy-Gold-award

We have been awarded the prestigious David Bellamy Gold Award for the sixth consecutive year. This award recognises the outstanding contribution made by Monkton Wyld Farm to protect the wildlife and local environment within the area of the caravan park.

Perhaps the reason for achieving Gold can best be summed up by comments made to the Bellamy team by our visitors. Here are just a few of them:

  • “We have been on 637 caravan sites in 31 years and this one is up there with the best of them. Beautiful wild flowers, birds, etc.”
  • “Abundance of flowers/shrubs. Plenty of space between outfits - whole site clean and tidy.”
  • “More than adequate spacing between vans. Low glow, soft light where necessary. Hedgerows full of floral colour.”
  • “A lovely site with many plants, areas for conservation and wildlife. Friendly, well kept play areas for kids.”
  • “It was nice to sit and watch the blue tits in and out of the nest boxes, along with other wildlife on site, the conservation areas are a good idea.”
  • “Excellent - needs no improvement.”

Monkton Wyld Farm applied to join the award scheme for the first time in 2001 and the inspectors had no difficulty in recommending Gold.
