Safari Tent

We are pleased to offer a large and luxurious Safari Tent. Based on the design of tents used on the great African Safari's, you will find yourself camping in a grand style.

Our Safari Tent provides a large living area, with timber floor and two separate bed areas, one with a comfortable double bed, the other with twin beds which can be converted to bunks if required, providing sleeping for up six people.

Our Safari Tent has been specially commissioned for Monkton Wyld to provide you with the utmost in luxurious camping. This hand built tent, made by British craftsmen, is constructed of heavy duty canvas over a timber frame with a large fly sheet which extends over the front, providing shelter for an outside sitting area. The front of the tent is secured by heavy duty chunky zips which can be adjusted to either provide a simple door opening or opened completely to let the outside in! In the hot days of summer the Safari Tent, with it's double fly sheet remains cool, whilst on chilly Autumn evenings a log burning stove helps keep you warm.

The Safari Tent is well equipped for a comfortable holiday, measuring 9.5 metres x 7 metres in size.  A well equipped kitchen area including cooking and eating utensils with electric hob, small oven, microwave, fridge, dining table and chairs.  The living area includes comfortable seating, coffee table, television and a wood burning stove. Two separate bed areas, one double and two single beds/bunks. Sleeps maximum of six.

Advanced bookings are from Saturdays to Saturdays only.

Short breaks Mid week and weekend bookings available except during main summer season. Prices are pro rata standard rates plus a £10 per night short break supplement. Please phone for availability.

The accommodation is for six people, (1 double bed and 2 singles bed/bunks). You will need your own bed linen/sleeping bags and pillows etc. A small but adequate kitchen is provided including cutlery and dining items for six.

There is a wood burning stove. A large box of wood is provided on arrival. Extra wood is available at £4.00 per bag.

A 50% deposit must be made on booking, with the remainder of the balance payable four (4) weeks before the start of the holiday booking. If a booking is made less than 4 weeks before the start of the holiday please send the full rental charges at the time of booking. Bookings can be paid by cheque, bank transfer or debit card. A 3% handling charge is made for credit card transactions. In the event of cancellation, failure to arrive or early departure of a holiday then we reserve the right to retain the full cost of the holiday. We will attempt to re-let the holiday and if successful, will offer a refund for the days re-let. We recommend you take out holiday insurance.
